There are few reasons why a working WordPress website would start prompting you to install WordPress afresh.
WordPress Installation has been Hacked
View the content of your wp-config.php file. If the content on it does note match your actual WordPress database, that means that it is compromised.
Solution:
Go to your backup and copy the last working version of the wp-config.php file. Then proceed update outdated plugins and Themes because this is usually the main cause of WordPress hacks.
Outdated MySQL Version
Your MySQL version might be outdated. You should contact your Web Hosting Provider for support if this is the case.
MySQL Permissions are set to Strict
If MySQL permissions are on strict mode, it could also cause your WordPress to malfunction in this manner. Please contact your Web Host for assistance and ask them to disable strict MySQL mode.
